Q. What do you actually do at a wedding?  How much will it cost?
A.  We play music as your guests are being seated (20-30 minutes prior to the service).  During the service, we play the processional, other ceremony music as needed, and the recessional.  We can play for offertory and communion if required.  We will also play a few minutes of postlude music as your guests are leaving.  Our wedding ceremony is billed at a flat rate, so you won't pay extra if the ceremony is running late.

Q. Do you play for the reception or just for the wedding ceremony?
A. We can play for the ceremony only, the reception only, or for both events.  Depending on your timeline, you may also want to have music during the receiving line, cocktails, or dinner.  

Q. Do you only book 1 event per day?
A. It depends.  If there is enough time between events, we can sometimes book more than one event per day.  We always leave ample time for travel and any unforeseen delays though.  This is why it is imperative that you contact us if there is ANY change in time to your event.  Our contract guarantees the time you write in at time of booking and states that we will do our best to accommodate any changes.  If for some reason, your time changes drastically (ie. more than 2 hours difference) and we are unable to accommodate you, we will work to find you another ensemble for your wedding day.

Q. What happens if someone gets sick or can't be at my event?  
A. We maintain a list of highly qualified players.  In the event that someone is ill or unable to play, we will arrange for a substitute.  If for any reason Festivo Strings would be required to cancel our contract with you, we would refund your deposit and find you another group for your event.  

Q. Is it always the same people playing?
A. Most of the time, yes.  All of the players who work with us have played with us for many years and are experienced with weddings and other events.  From time to time we need to call on substitute players due to vacations, illness, etc, but you can rest assured that all Festivo Strings musicians are highly qualified individuals.

Q. Do you have a demo CD?
A. No.  You can listen to some of our sound clips online under "Sound Clips."  In 2006, we released our first CD, Classics for String Trio.  The CD has approximately an hour of wedding music on it, and can be purchased for $20. 
 

Q. How far in advance should I book my music?  
A. As soon as you know your date and have reserved a location, you can begin to think about booking music.  We are currently taking bookings for 2010.

Q. Will you play outdoors?
A. Yes, as long as the temperature is at least 16C/65F and we have adequate shade or shelter to protect our valuable instruments. (If your ceremony will take place outdoors in full sun, please speak to your venue about arranging a canopy for the musicians.)

Q. Do you attend the wedding rehearsal?
A. We find that speaking to the officiant just prior to the ceremony is the best way of effectively preparing for the service, so we do not usually attend the rehearsal.
